Description
The B1 stands stable on three legs, a backrest can serve as a shelf, and changing the sitting position is encouraged by the shape and fabric pattern. The detailed design of the chair with tapered legs and gentle transitions, for example in the backrest, emphasizes how far the B1 is from bricolage – the individual act between improvisation and makeshift – and has been developed into a formally and functionally harmonious solitaire.
B1 was designed by Stefan Wewerka who is considered one of the most versatile artists who fits into no box and worked and taught in all areas of fine art and design. Stefan Wewerka was the son of the sculptor Rudolf Wewerka and came from a traditional family of artists that can be traced back over many generations.
