Description
The lightness of the 46 Armchair is emphasized by the distinct separation between the supporting and supported elements. Originally designed in 1946 for the Copenhagen Cabinetmakers’ Guild Exhibition for master cabinetmaker Niels Vodder, the chair was refined by Finn Juhl between 1947 and 1949 into a simpler, more streamlined version for the furniture manufacturer Bovirke. This refined version is the one in our collection today. The 46 Armchair consists of a solid wooden frame in oak or walnut, combined with a seat and backrest upholstered in textile or leather.
