Description
This is a W199 Dining Armchair, originally designed by Walter Gropius and Ben Thompson for Thonet in 1951. The chair was produced in Austria in the early 1950s. The design features bent birch plywood legs, arms, and back supports, and solid contoured nutwood seats and backs. Gropius was a co-founder of the Bauhaus school and is widely regarded as one of the pioneers of modern architecture.

Each chair measures 21 inches deep, 25.5 inches wide, and is 29.5 inches high, with a seat height of 18 inches. There is wear consistent with previous use.
